Luke
the historian is going to tell us a story, but it is a story of Jesus, but it’s
a story that is not a human story. It is
not a cultural myth either. It’s not a
legend. It’s not a fantasy dream. It’s a
story of God’s revelation. In order to
make sure we know it’s from God, Luke begins with a miracle that only God
Himself could perform.
1A The Description of the family and marriage and character
of Zacharias and Elizabeth Baptist
Since all male
descendants of Aaron were priest, here male family were priest. She grew up in
a family of Jewish priest and knew the work of the priest. He chose a girl from the best. He was devoted
to the priesthood, he was devoted to God and loved his priestly duty. And of course married a girl who was most
exposed to the devout involvement in the religion of Judaism
2A Why Luke presences Zacharias and Elizabeth in the story of
Jesus Christ
3A How Zacharias and Elizabeth Baptist show Old Testament
salvation.
God
said they were righteous. Zacharias and Elizabeth, were righteous before the
Lord. That would tell us they were in
the New Testament terminology born again.
So how did that happen? How did
they become righteous before God
