Charles and Charity Whisnant Honeymoon and Work Places 19623-1996

CHARLES E. WHISNANT WORK PLACES FROM 1963 TO JUNE 1996

 I found these yesterday:  Charity and I were on our honeymoon back to Fort Worth Texas.

I first paying job was when I went to seminary in 1966. 
Here is a list of places I have worked

From 1963 to Feburay 1966 was Youth Pastor of
Roanoke Baptist Temple in Roanoke Virginia
  1. Western Aspen, Fort Worth Texas 1966
  2. Lennox, Fort Worth, Texas my first year in 1966
  3. Mrs. Bairds Bakery, I worked here for several years and really loved it.  Worked all night and had my first class a 8 a.m.
  4. Dan Foods
  5. Dan Rivers
  6. Southall Baptist in Danville, Virginia: I had this job when I went back to Danville, Va I was hired by the preacher and worked as a Youth Pastor (under cover I might add).  
  7. West Handley Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas when I went back to Seminary in 1967. Youth Pastor and loved the job
  8. Hancock Gas Co.  I worked for $1.00 an hour and gas was $.17
  9. Tri-City Janitor Service. I liked this job while in Seminary.
  10. Fielder Road Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas, I was a janitor for a few months.
  11. Dynamical Learning. Cleaned offices
  12. Mrs Cash She would hire me to do odd jobs.
  13. West Side Grocery for a while.
  14. Packaging Corp. was where I was working when I met Charity in 1968. 
  15. American Manufacturing Co.  We made bomb shells for the war.
  16. Jim Daney Box .Co. I worked here for a while and loved it.  in Fort Worth
  17. Gideon Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas, 1968-69. Worked on the Bus Ministry and Children's Church Ministry with Charity. Under Dr. George Norris.
  18. Wooster Baptist Temple, my first job after I finished Seminary. Wooster, Ohio in March 1969.  Love this church, and one of the best churches I worked, love the teens and people. The pastor was leaving the church when I arrived.
  19. Hawkins Market in Wooster, Ohio. Great place to work, while I was only getting $50 per week at the church.
  20. Don Baugham Construction, a part time job, Don let me work outside trying to knock down a Amish Barn. Almost frozen to death.
  21. La Pizzeria Shop. Would you believe, after we left Wooster, we came back to West Portsmouth, Ohio and Charity's dad gave us a job. Eric was just a little baby in 1971
  22. Madison Baptist Church in 1971 to 1973 was my first pastorate church. I was paid $5 for the first years and left in 1973 at $35.00. Really loved the church and people.
  23. Deputy Juvenile Probation Officer of Scioto County in Porstmouth Ohio under Judge Paul Fower. I love this job.  We lost the election and I was out of a job.
  24. Victory Baptist Church, in West Portsmouth, Bob Temple, Sr. hired me to be the Asso. Pastor and Youth Pastor.  Really loved worked there for about 14 months. 
  25. Mesco Metal Building, after moving from Ohio I went to Grapevine Texas and got a job here.  Had a lot of fun working here.
  26. Apcoa Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, Dallas Texas. This was my second full time job while we were in Texas. I worked in the airport car line.
  27. First Baptist Church of Haltom City, Fort Worth. I was hired to be the Christian Education Director. I organized the Sunday School. I love the work.
  28. Pleasant Valley Ranch, Perrysville, Ohio. I left Texas to take this job becausae of Tommy Leatherwood. I was hired at $50 a week to organized the newly formed Youth Camp.
  29. Mansfield Baptist Temple, Mansfield, Ohio I taught the College and Career Class. What a great class.
  30. Adam Giess Aluminum siding Co. Adam gave me a job while in Mansfield. He was great.
  31. Calvary Baptist Church, Connerville, Indiana, I was hired to be the Youth Pastor of the Youth and College group. I loved this group too.
  32. Pulman Standard Co.  Amtrack Trains.  A great job in Chicago, Ill. made about $11 per hour back in 1979
  33. Crown Point HIght School as a Night Watchman in Crown Point Ind. While I was going to Hyles-Andersons Christian College.
  34. First Baptist Church in Altoona, Kansas, Pastor/Teacher of this great church from 1980-1996.
  35. Jack Noah Construction. Jack game me a job for a few months while I was in Altoona, Kansas
  36. Hillcrest Nursing Center, I worked here from 1981 thru 1991, in Fredonia, Kansas. Worked with three Administrators, love the people, loved the job. Supervisor over housekeeping.
  37. Chanute  Nursing Home from 1993 to 1996. Supervisor.
