Official Proceedings on Same Sex in the Supreme Court

U.S. Supreme Court Justices will hear arguments on whether states must allow same-sex marriageM

Arguments before the Supreme Court on Same Sex Marriage April 28 21015

Mary L. Bonauto said on behalf of petitioners on Question

The intimate and committed relationships of same-sex couples, just like those of heterosexual couples, provide mutual support and are the foundation of family life in our society.

If a legal commitment, responsibility and protection that is marriage is off limits to gay people as a class, the stain of unworthiness that follows on individuals and families contravenes the basic constitutional commitment to equal dignity.

Indeed, the abiding purpose of the 14th Amendment is to preclude relegating classes of persons to second-tier status.

“Here we have a whole class of people who are denied the equal right to be able to join in their extensive government institution that provides protection for families,

Chief Justice Roberts:

Well, you say join in the institution.  The argument on the other side is that they’re seeking to redefine the institution.   Every definition that I looked up, prior to about a dozen years ago, defined marriage as unity between a man and a woman as husband and wife.  Obviously, if you succeed, that definition will no longer be operable.

My question is you’re not seeking to join the institution, you’re seeking to change what the institution is.  The fundamental sore of the institution is the opposite-sex relationship and you want to introduce into it a same-sex relationship

Justice Alito:

Well, how do you account for the fact, as far as I’m aware, until the end of the 20th century, there never was a nation or a culture that recognized marriage between two people of the same sex?   Now, can we infer from that that those nations and those cultures all thought that there was some rational,  purpose for defining marriage in that way or is it your argument that they were all operating independently based solely on irrational stereotypes and prejudice.?

Well if you want to read the 100 plus pages feel free to do so.

The sacred page is not meant to be the end, but only the means toward the end, which is knowing God himself. A. W. Tozer

The Bible were not written over 2000 years, and  lived by many, to be kept and collected and piled up , just to be put into a basket for holding God's wonderful, life changing truths  and stories with morals that have good effects.

Thirty million sought psychotherapy.   "People go to therapy to cope with disorders, relationships, stress, grief, to figure out who they are and learn to live life to the fullest."

First Peter 2:1 "desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby.."  Growbylearning.org.

Thirst to know.... To learn of God requires that you thirst to find out.  Just to know plenty is not good enough.

It means to be intentional -be eager to learn. Be disciplined. Question, challenge, wrestle, and sometimes even insistently reject what you hear.  Some time you need to disbelieve your knowledge, and disbelieve your doubts, and don't believe everything that you think and hear.

Learn to trust that the Spirit is at work, and it is this same Spirit that communicates the truths of the Scriptures beyond anything thing else.   God wants you to know.  And to thirst to know God, the Lord Jesus Christ is the best avenue.

HOW TO LEARN FROM THE BIBLE:

One: read the notes Pastor/Teacher Charles gives you and take them home and study them, made a devotion out of them.

Two: listen to the sermon again on you tube or vimeo.

Three: study it yourself, study it with others, live how the Word leads you by the Word. Live it out with others that are living it out, and also others who are not living it out.

Your mind will change as you learn - and if you are not - then you are not really learning.  You can learn to think biblically, you can learn to change your behavior, you can learn to be lead by the Spirit.  Practice the Presence of the Holy Spirit.

DON'T JUST READ THE WORD OF GOD, DO SOMETHING WITH IT.  WHEN GOD SPEAKES THINGS HAPPEN.

The truths in the Word of God can effect and rub off on just about anybody. The applying of the Word will not come back empty.

READ THE SCRIPTURE WITH ATTTIUDE

Read with faith that is right, and with passion.

Pastor Charles loves bibles, but not for the paper that its written on, but for the person whom speaks through them.

The truths that are in the Bible teach that which is the foundation for depth and exploring, mining and understanding all dimensions of God's truth.

THE BIBLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD, not a Charles Martin, or Lisa Harris, or Melody Carson novel.

TRY THE FOLLOWING

  1. Choose a book of the Bible you've never read before, and read it aloud at the loudness and speed you would use in ordinary speech. Read it all the way through, even the technical parts. This can be done a chapter or two a day, which gives you more time to think about it.
  2. Or, choose a poetic passage, such as in the Psalms, Song of Songs, or Lamentations. Read it aloud, slowly, giving yourself time to savor it and let it sink in.
  3. Think of Scriptural ideas, symbol, or passages that have affected your life through non-Christian or general-public sources or people. (They're all over the place, but you may have to think a bit to find them.)
  4. Name one thing you have learned from the Scriptures.
  5. When you're studying the Gospel, try memorizing some of the key summary lines Jesus says, or scriptures of encouragement, or some of the promises Jesus makes to His followers.
  6. If you're reading the Bible in a church study group, try asking yourselves the question: What does

SILVER COINS  NOT DO?
Matthew 27:1-10 and Zechariah 9 and 11
Charles e Whisnant, Pastor/Teacher Rivers of Joy Baptist Church, Minford, OH
March 29, 2015

IA. WHAT COULD THIRTY SILVER COINS  DO?

1B. They could sell Christ into the hands of murderers. The prophecy in Zechariah sets forth: Zechariah 11:5-13

1C That God appointed one High and Lofty Shepherd to feed the Jewish people,2C  That the ordinary guides had no regard for their charge: "Their own shepherds pity them not" (Zechariah 11:5).
3C That between these unworthy shepherds and the shepherds of God's appointing there was strong enmity:
4C That he gives up his charge in judicial visitation.
5C That the covenant between him and his people was broken,
6C That some of the people, however, should admit Messiah's claims.
7C That in contrast to these

2B. They could purchase "the potter's field, to bury strangers in."

1C A memorial to the truth of Scripture.
2C A memorial to the innocence of Jesus.
3C A memorial of the dishonor of the traitor and of the rulers.
4C It was "to bury strangers in."

2A WHAT COULD THE SILVER COINS  NOT DO?
1B They could not redeem Christ from death.

IC Isaiah 53:7, 8), to "deliver him to the Gentiles," according to his prediction  (Matthew 20:19; John 18:32).
2C The bonds in which Jesus was now led differed John 18:12-27, Mark 15:1
3C The true bonds which bound Jesus were those of his wondrous love to man. Proverbs 5:22; Lamentations 1:12-14).
2B. They could not purchase the repentance of the rulers
1C "What is that to us?"
2C "See thou to that."
3C The cold evildoing
4C "And the chief priests took the silver pieces"
3A. They could not redeem Judas from perdition.
1B  Some think Judas was partly induced to betray his Master by the expectation
2B  How differently did the silver appear to the traitor before and after his transgression! Job 20:12-15
3B As Judas was motivated by greed, deadly  in his sin, so was he possessed with despair in his repentance
4B There is little reason to believe that the repentance of Judas was more than the remorse of an upbraiding conscience (cf. Matthew 26:24;  John 17:12; Acts 1:25). It was a repentance which needs to be repented of (2 Corinthians 7:10). Matthew 5:23-26
"until you have paid the last penny"

Thus does Divine justice exact everything, not a single farthing more or less than you owe.
The first statement is probable; but as for the slightest hint of the second, it is wholly wanting. Christ affirms that non-reconciliation with a brother, if carried beyond that limit of time within which the quarrel can be made up, involves consequences in which the element of mercy will be entirely absent.
The element of mercy can enter up to a certain point of time, but after that only justice. It will be observed that, in the above interpretation, ἀντίδικος has been consistently explained as a human adversary, for this seems to be the primary meaning here.

A Brief View of Homosexuals Bu

I read this today on Huffingtonpost.com

2 Timothy 4 15 deceitipon

Why would a gay couple want a wedding cake baked by homophobes? Who would want hate vibes in their cream cheese frosting? Malevolence in their marzipan? In January, Ben Carson said that this is "really not all that smart because they might put poison in that cake." He then further reasoned, "What I have a problem with is when people try to force people to act against their beliefs because they say, 'They're discriminating against me. They can go right down the street and buy a cake, but no, let's bring a suit against this person because I want them to make my cake even though they don't believe in it." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kevin-thornton/why-would-a-gay-person-wa_b_6981006.html?ncid=tweetlnkushpmg00000067

We have, I understand a large group of homosexuals in Scioto County, OHIO. ( I have no clue as to the number).

Personally I have not seen but a few that you would know they were.   I am sure there are some that come into the bakery and want cakes, etc.  If they come in as a buyer I don’t see anything biblically wrong not to take their order.

We believe there is a group that travel around the country just trying to stir up trouble. For the most part Homosexuals are just normal people I would think.  Well normal is not a good word I guess.  Its not normal in the sexual since, but they are normal in that they have jobs, go shopping, etc.

Today  after getting up and getting dress I went to the bakery, picked up Charity’s  pay check and went to the bank.  Then I went to the church.  I was look over come of my sermons from 1994.  Made copies of Wednesday night outline from First Peter 2:24.

We had a wonderful service at Rivers of Joy Baptist Church, Minford, Ohio.

THE CROSS AND THE CRUCIFICATION AND THE CAUSE
Charles e Whisnant, Pastor/Teacher

FIRST PETER 2:24

Exodus  28:38; t shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall bear any guilt from the holy things that the people of Israel consecrate as their holy gifts. It shall regularly be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
Psalms  38:4; For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

Matthew 8:17;    This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”  Isaiah 53:4
John 1:29, 36;  The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Hebrews 2:9 and 17.  But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
Matthew 1:21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Hebrew 7:27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself  Leviticus 9:7 http://biblehub.com/hebrews/7-27.htm
Deut. 21:21-23 Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel will hear of it and fear.“If a man has committed a sin worthy of death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance.

Romans 6:2,7,11; 7:6;  Read
