Hope in Scripture is not the world's definition of "I hope so", with a few rare exceptions (Acts 27:20)
- Hope is defined as a desire for some future good with the expectation of obtaining it.
- Hope is confident expectancy. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
- Hope is the looking forward to something with some reason for confidence respecting

BECAUSE THE LOVE OF GOD

- God's love flows out in abundance and we experience it in an abundant manner.
- Inexhaustible abundance of the supply
- Pour out. Perfect tense. Began in the past at conversion, results and benefits of that outpouring continue been withdrawn.
- The idea is that the love of God has been poured out in our hearts and still floods us.
- The fact that the voice is passive supports the interpretation that this is a reference to God's love for us and not our live for God.
