THE RECEIVING OF THE WORD IS THE KEY TO HEARING THE WORD

Sanctification begins in regeneration. The Spirit of God infuses into
man that new living principle by which he becomes "a new creature" in
Christ Jesus. This work, which begins in the new birth, is carried on
in two ways-mortification, whereby the lusts of the flesh are subdued
and kept under; and vivification, by which the life which God has put
within us is made to be a well of water springing up unto everlasting
life.

This is carried on every day in what is called "perseverance," by
which the Christian is preserved and continued in a gracious state, and
is made to abound in good works unto the praise and glory of God; and
it culminates or comes to perfection, in "glory," when the soul, being
thoroughly purged, is caught up to dwell with holy beings at the right
hand of the Majesty on high. But while the Spirit of God is thus the
author of sanctification, yet there is a visible agency employed which
must not be forgotten.

"Sanctify them," said Jesus, "through thy truth:
thy word is truth." The passages of Scripture which prove that the
instrument of our sanctification is the Word of God are very many. The
Spirit of God brings to our minds the precepts and doctrines of truth,
and applies them with power.

These are heard in the ear, and being
received in the heart, they work in us to will and to do of God's good
pleasure.

I Thessalonians 2:13

"Because, when you received the word of God which you heard of us,

you received it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth

the word of God."

The truth is the sanctifier, and if we do not hear or read
the truth, we shall not grow in sanctification. We only progress in
sound living as we progress in sound understanding.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."

Psalms 119:l05

Do not say of any error, "It is
a mere matter of opinion." No man indulges an error of judgment,
without sooner or later tolerating an error in practice. Hold fast the
truth, for by so holding the truth shall you be sanctified by the
Spirit of God.

Four Great Questions on Leadership

LEADERSHIP

THE REASON WHY WE NEED LEADERSHIP

We are on purpose, goal-directed beings, in search of the fulfillment of our needs through the accomplishment of our goals, and we are people who must chase our goals in social settings and church settings. Thus, the clash - many trying to occupy the same space at the same time.

We are going to promote ourselves in what we do, at the expense of overs, by sharing what overs are not doing, so we can look better at what we do.

OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO..

In our church growing up, DAD loved preachers

Coming to our church was a safe place for wounded preachers.

DAD would always have them preach for him when they came by on any giving Sunday.

Often Dad would start a church, and then in a few years turn the church over to another preacher and he would go and start another church

Example: In Asheboro NC, Lynchburg VA, etc

CHURCH CONFLICTS HAPPENS

Don't we almost always perceive the world from our point of view, and we act on the basis of it? Human pride, self-glorification, and making personal perceptions absolute ultimately corrupt. The deification or veneration of our own views builds the barriers, creates the separations, and deepens the estrangement from God and others.

My Dad was really a church evangelist, he desired to see people saved, and then start a local church. Often Dad would go into an area where there were no Baptist Churches, and put up a tent, and begin preaching. When a group of people were saved, and others, a church was formed. Sometimes Dad would be the first Pastor, sometimes he would move on to the next city.

In the photo Dad is in the near center, coat open, my Mom, sad to say is hidding behind the mike to the right. I have no clue who the other people in the photo are, but I really would love to know.

Several times J.F. Spoke for my Dad. In 1952 I believe Dr. Norris came to Ninth Street Baptist Church in Roanoke Virginia to speak for Dad. This was one of the last churches I beleive Dr. Norris was in before he passed away. I was five years old. I remember only that Dr. Norris spent the night with us, and prayed for my brother and I before he left. Dr. Norris died August 1952. Age 75. My understanding is, Dr. Norris came to Roanoke Virginia and then went to a Youth Camp in Jacksonville, FLA, where he died. That is my understanding. My mother would know.

My mother is now 86 years old and has a excellent memory and she well remembers those days.

I went to Bible Baptist Seminary, in 1966, Arlington Texas. Dr. Norris started the school, which was named the Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute, in Ft. Worth started in 1939.

VIEW OF THE DOCTRINE OF GRACE

Caner Declares Jihad on Doctrines of Grace

Ergun Caner, head of Liberty Theological Seminary, shocked even the fundamentalist wing of the Southern Baptist Convention last Sunday when he declared jihad against the Doctrines of Grace.While preaching at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA, Caner reportedly said, "We have been soft for too long on these Calvinist infidels. They are, after all, worse than Muslims. We must take the fight straight to their core - straight to the Doctrines of Grace themselves. (You really need to check out "worse than Muslims" on Old Truth. This was back in 2006 Caner is still there today.)

Let us purify our convention of these usurpers."Caner continued his "sermon" by outlining the process by which the SBC will be expunged of the Doctrines of Grace.

"We will follow a simple five-step process:

First, those heroes who oppose the heretical doctrines will gain, by whatever measure is necessary, positions of power and authority in the convention.

Second, we will warn all SBC churches not to hire Calvinists.

Third, we will tell all Calvinists that they have a moral imperative to tell churches if they are, in fact, Calvinists.

Fourth, we will hold many conferences designed to annihilate the Doctrines of Grace.

Fifth, we will frequently toilet-paper Al Mohler's house."At the conclusion of the sermon, Caner was reportedly shot out of a canon, bounced off a trampoline, and landed on the back of a waiting camel. After wrapping a turban on his head, he departed stage left singing

We Shall Overcome.

Several hundred spectators immediately came forward to accept Jesus into their hearts.

WHAT IS A REAL FUNDAMENTALIST? SEPARATION WHAT IS IT?

I LIKE TO TRY TO BE FAIR AND BALANCE IN THESE MATTERS
BIBLICAL SEPARATION?

Biblical Separation vs. Personal Separation

"There are still significant differences between fundamentalists and evangelicals, even the conservative evangelicals." And I believe it has to do with Separation.

(so say a few fundamentalists)

I am also learning there are several different branches of

Independent Baptist Fundamentalist

There is the Bob Jones fundamentalist, there is the J.F. Norris fundamentalist, there is the post Bob Jones and J.F. Norris fundamentalist, and there is the Lee Roberson, Tom Malone and WBF, BBF, Jack Hyles, and who knows how many others that I am not familiar with. There are as many brands of fundamentalist as there are teams in the Major Baseball League.

YOU ARE NOT A REAL 2008 FUNDAMENTALIST IF: (so they say)

1. You might say you are a fundamentalist but you need to be a Baptist.
2. You might say you are a fundamentalist but you need to be the right kind of Baptist?
3. You might say you are a fundamentalist but you need to understand Biblical Separation
4. You might say you are a fundamentalist but you need to know the five original points of fundamentalist (no not the five points of Calvinism)


5. You might be a fundamentalist if you do not fellowship with Evangelicals.


6. You might be a fundamentalist if you use terms like "Soul Winning" "KJV1611 only"
7. You might be a fundamentalist, but you can't also be Reformed, Covenant in Theology.
8. You might be a fundamentalist, but you need to be a dispensationalist.\\
9. You might be a fundamentalist, but you need to preach the Gospel, give an invitation, and preach separation.
10. You might be a fundamentalist, but you have to practice Biblical Separation, and separate from any body who is not a fundamentalist your style.

I can say I am a Fundamentalist, if I want to. I can say I am a Baptist if I want too, and I can say I am a Calvinist Baptist Evangelical Fundamentalist Reformed Dispensationalist if I so desire. I know what I think I believe. And I might still be viewed by other Fundamentalist as a non fundamentalist.

SO MAYBE I SHOULD NOT PUT A 'TAG' ON WHAT I AM.
