"THE BIBLE" REVIEW QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL SERIES ON ‘THE BIBLE”
Adult Bible Study  March 20 2013 Charles e Whisnant, Pastor/Teacher/Shepherd
a        When you set down an watched “THE BIBLE” as they say 68 million have, what did you see?   And how did if it did effect you?
A        What do you think those who view this mini series are going to think about God, Jesus Christ, The Bible itself?
A        What are those who are not Christians going to say about the Bible?  I would say that the 68 million who watch the film say they are Christians?
S        Do you believe that all say they are “Christian” are born again, have been converted?
A        Would you say that those who wrote the series and produce the series have put in their own view of the Bible?
A        What do you think of the New Age Movement?
A        What do you think of Rick Warren, Joel Osteen and T.D. Jakes they were the consultant for the series.
A        Do you know what Warren, Osteen and Jakes teach?
A        Do you know what they New Age Spiritualist teach?
Do you see any problem with a rewrite of the stories in the “The Bible?”

I know we can mishandle a movie like the “Hoosiers” but is it okay to mishandle the content of the Bible?
Bill O’Reilly says in the interview with Roma Downey and Mark Barnett says he is a Christian  and he says that there are many passages in the Bible that he does not take literally. Whereas Roma says she is a Christian and Biblically sound Christians and she claims to believe the bible is literal.
The term “Christian” now can be viewed as someone who is also “A New Ager.”
I realize Winfrey, Downey and Burnett are not alone. Many New Agers call themselves “Christians”. But a New Ager cannot be a true, born again Christian, and a true, born again Christian cannot be a New Ager.

In various interviews you have stated you are a Christian, have known Jesus all your life, are born again, and have accepted Jesus as your Saviour.  How do you define “Christian” and “born again”? And when exactly did you become born again? That is, when did you have that “crisis conversion experience”? (That is, the specific event on a certain date truly born again Christians point to, when they repented of their sinful past and accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour.) Also, please explain your understanding of John Chapter 3, in which Jesus describes how to be born again.
Do you believe Jesus is the only way to Heaven? Or do you believe many paths lead to God? How do you explain this verse?: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”  (John 14:6).
Do you believe most people – regardless of their religion – will make it into Heaven? If so, how do you explain this passage? “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt. 7:13-14).
In your worldview, how does God determine who makes it into Heaven, and who does not? Do you believe this passage?: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:18-19).
Do you believe in the eternal punishment of the wicked (those who reject Christ) in the Lake of Fire, as the Bible says? If not, how do you explain this passage?: “the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8).
You say you have been born again. According to this verse, a person who is born again will forsake their old, sinful ways: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Cor. 5:17). Have you forsaken your sinful, ungodly beliefs? Specifically, have you renounced the false teachings of the following: Roman Catholicism, Celtic “Christianity”, Della Reese (New Thought), John Edward (Rosary-praying psychic medium), John-Rogers (New Age), Eckhart Tolle (New Age), etc.? If you have not forsaken any of these false teachings, how can you claim to be born again?

Do you know who Eckhart Toller is and what he teaches?
Can you be a Roman Catholic, Celtic,  New Ager,  and Christian?
Do you know what is  Spiritual Psychology?
So this New Age woman and her husband want to go on Focus on the Family and laugh and talk about the Holy Spirit and their love for the Bible, and this call that God placed on their lives to make a Hollywood movie of His favorite book.
When you heard your faviorite actor or singer was a homosexual did it change your view of them and what they said? What if you learned that they were “New Agers” or believed in “Spiritual Psychology?

What would you think of a person whose teacher is Eckhart Toller: who is a New Age teacher and adds to the Bible his Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Shintoist philosophy? He was listed  by the Walkins Review s the most spiritually influential person in the world and the most popular spiritual author in the United States.
If you say you really enjoy watching THE BIBLE what are you saying about it?
Have you said, “Well, I really have not seen anything thing that I can say I believe is wrong? Am I missing something?

Should the executive producers of The Bible be as responsible for making sure that the script from the series would be as close to the truth as the Pastor/Teacher would be when he is teaching the Word of God?
