GOD IS ALL WISDOM AND HE IS GOD IN SALVATION, IN SUFFERING AND IN SAINTS
ROMANS 9:25-28

Pedagogy and education are secondary in the worship service. The category is this: supernatural encounter with the living God as the preacher worships over the Word and draws the people into an experience of God almighty through his proclamation. That is the category. And if you try to just replace that category with a lecture category, then her argument is going to make sense. All we are trying to do here is improve people’s understanding of some theological truths. Well, that is just not the main point of preaching. The first aim of preaching is not education, but encounter.  John Piper.

ROMANS 9:25-28

9:25 As he also says in Hosea:“I will call those who were not my people, ‘My people,’ and I will call her who was unloved,  ‘My beloved.’” 9:26 “And in the very place  where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’” 9:27 And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel, “Though the number of the children   of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved, 9:28 for the Lord will execute his sentence on the earth completely and quickly.” https://net.bible.org/#!bible/Romans+9:25
Albert Einstein’s wife was asked the question, “Do you understand the theory of relativity?” She responded immediately, “No, but I know Albert, and he can be trusted.” This brilliant response by Meliva Einstein provides a tremendous principle for accurate biblical interpretation. There are some portions of Scripture that are so deep that we can’t understand them fully in this life. As finite beings we just can’t understand the infinite.1 However, we know God, and He can be trusted.

1.God’s choice is a matter of His character and 2.  His authority. Now we will see a final great truth . . .]
3. God’s Choice Is A Matter Of His Program (9:24-29)

We often question God's plan.  Does God change His plans just because Israel does not believe.
    Samuel question God:  1 Samuel 16, 28:15-20
“What’s the point of all these Old Testament quotes?”
Paul establish the acceptability of the Gentiles and that the call does not included all Israel.

1A      Hosea:  vs. 2:23 Paul's point is that the call of the Gentiles shold not have come as a surprise to     the Jews.  God was not permanently casting away the people of Israel. Hosea 1:9 Israel will be     scattered to the ends of the earth.

God directed Hosea to give his children symbolic names: one son Lo-Ammi (not my people)     Gomer's second son, his name symbolized the rejection of Israel. A daughter Lo-Ruhamah (not-    loved or means "not pited" or "not having obtained mercy," signifying that Israel will not find     mercy when the impending judgment falls.

God has called the Gentiles to faith and left Israel with a remnant in the earth.
First Peter 2:10 same verse. Here Peter words could apply to both Jews before they met their     Messiah and pagan Gentiles before the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

Vs. 25   "Beloved"  means to love, unconditionally, not sentimental or emotional but the act of     God will with the intended goal of the recipient's highest good irrespective of whether it is     received or returned.

Vs. 26  Hosea talks about the Jews, and Paul talkes about the Gentiles I know. But when the Holy Spirit quotes verses from the OT in the NT, He can rightfully apply thelm as he wishes.

Isaiah: vs. 27 quote from Isaiah 10:22-23  A small piece will be saved, one a few will be saved.
Vs. 28 is from Isaiah 10:23. The Lord will excute His word upon the earth. Finishing it fully     and without delay    .  Amos 5:11-12. Few excape.

Vs. 29 Only a small group will be saved. God planned it all

3A    What does God require of us to have a relationship with Him?
    Faith.
