How Is It That Death Comes To All People? Outline Notes

ONE MAN. ONE MAN DONE IT TO THE WHOLE 160 BILLION PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN BORN.
HOW IS IT THAT DEATH COMES TO ALL PEOPLE? WHY IS IT THAT ALL PEOPLE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL DIE?
Romans 5:12 Charles e Whisnant, March 06 2011 45.66

We want to examine the first few verses of this section:We will look at vs. 12-14 hopefully
We note two phases “Death reigned” vs. 14 and 17 and vs. 12 tells us that death passed upon all men and vs. 21 tells us that sin hath reigned unto death.
SO THE QUESTION IS WHAT PAUL TEACHING US IS:
Death is king over the entire human race. Death reigns. Because of sin, death reigns over the entire human race of people.
The whole world is filled with graves
As a matter of fact all persons are going find death. Death is a fact of life.
· 57 million die each year worldwide. 155,000 die each day.
What are the chance you are going to die today?
· A Washington D>C. undertaker has a sign by his place: ‘EVENTUALLY YOURS.”
What about DEATH? Some have tried to describe it? But it is going to happen for sure.[i]
But the question that might come to our minds WHY?
HOW IS IT THAT DEATH COMES TO ALL PEOPLE? WHY IS IT THAT ALL PEOPLE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL DIE?
· SO WHO CAME UP WITH PEOPLE DYING?
· DO PEOPLE DIE OF OLD AGE?[ii]
· SO HOW DID DEATH START AND WHY?
Our answer is found in Romans 5:12-21…
Let me remind you as we go through this subject, it’s a mystery that will never be solved by us in this life time, we will never know, maybe in heaven, but I don’t believe we will in Hell.
THIS LESSON IS NOT ABOUT WHY WE DIE. BUT WE WILL DIE.
BUT THIS LESSON IS ABOUT HOW IT IS THAT MAN WILL DIE AND HOW ONE MAN CAUSED THE DEATH TO COME UPON ALL MANKIND AND I MUST SAY ALL THINGS.
· WE will look at this subject from the bible point of view.
CHAPTER ONE TO 3 Paul describes the sinfulness of Man
Part One of the Notes/Outline of the sermon giving by Charles e Whisnant at Rivers of Joy Baptist
This semi-scientific approach yields an estimate of about 106 billion births since the dawn of the human race. Clearly, the period 8000 B.C. to 1 A.D. is key to the magnitude of our number, but, unfortunately, little is known about that era.
[ii] There are various ways of shuffling off this mortal coil, but people actually die from injury (such as a fall or car accident) or disease (such as cancer). No one dies of old age. Usually when a person is said to have died "of old age," it means that he or she succumbed to one of the diseases common in our later years.
While many older people do suffer from health problems, disease does not automatically accompany aging, and seniors are living longer and healthier than ever. Just as youth does not guarantee good health, old age does not guarantee poor health.
it is true that living cells have a finite life span, but that doesn't mean that the organism simply dies because the cells are old. Instead, genetic mutations, diseases, and damaging effects of the environment can foster a specific disorder or disease. As people get older, their cells simply don't work as well, and can't stave off disease as easily or heal as well as they once could. As a result, older people may die from injuries or diseases that a younger person would easily survive. But nothing dies from simply being old.

SERMON PREPARATION THE EARLY YEARS AND YOUTH CLASS

Sermon Preparation Early Years 1962-1966

click for another article on this subject.

The early years of teaching the Bible. I started reading the Bible in 1960.  I started teaching the Teenagers and Young Adults at RBC in 1962 and the first series of lessons were from Psalms and the notes above are from that series.  I believed I used some of Spurgeon's notes from the Treasure of David that my Dad had in his library.

Those early years we studied the Bible all week.  We had some kind of activity with the teens almost every day during the week and then on Sunday and Sunday Night, and I also had a radio program. 30 minutes live each Sunday afternoon.

Al Myers remembers the classes we had, and we would later travel to different churches to preach at Youth Rallies.  I remember those days very well.  I talked to Al and Barbara Myers this week from their home in New Jersey.  What a joy that was to talk to them, and how they are very active in their church mnistries.

Sandra Richardson who was my girlfriend for three years I learned this last week at died in her home in Virginia, she was 63, she was the same age as I was.  She was a part of our group in RBC all those years. What a great time we had at church, youth camp and in our home and on the softball field in the summer.

Well my whole hearts desire in those days was to get into the Word and try to study the Word.  Dad would take us to a WBF Fellowship Preachers meeting each month.  Those days there were no less than 10 preachers that preached over two days.  And I would take notes from each of them.

Charles H. Spurgeon Preaching and Preparation

Charles Spurgeon apparently had a wonderful mind given to him by God for understanding and preaching the Word of God. The more I learn about him the more I believe he was so gifted fo rthe special ministry that he had. He had the gifted to remember what he read. It is said that he could recall what he read while preaching.

As a young child his toys were books. He learned to read them early and quickly. Eventually he could read six ordinary books at a sitting, and as many substantial volumes in a week. A retentive memory and a computer-like recall system provided grist for the mill of preparation for sermons, lectures, and books. Spurgeon's magazine The Sword and the Trowel often contained as many as fifty book reviews from his pen — sufficient proof of his capacity. References here

Spurgeon mind was so filled with what he read I would think, and had the ability to remember and put them into words is remarkable.

The more you read the more you are able to think about a subject.

I wonder how Spurgeon would have done in the computer age. He had nothing but his pen. He had his books to read. He read books, which are now out of print.

How he had the ability to speak to great crowds is beyond my understanding. Of course there are many who do this very thing today. Billy Graham to name one.

I guess what I am trying to say, Spurgeon had a method that he was able to use to present and prepare a sermon. Understanding that the Holy Spirit was the guide to his thinking. Of course we believe that God via the Holy Spirit gives us direction as to preparation of sermons.

This pfd site has 216 pages of 41 sermons by Spurgeon

Charles H. Spurgeon's Personal Library

Spurgeon's study at Westwood, his family home, contained more than 12,000 volumes. The majority of these were acquired by a donor who gave them to Curry Library at William Jewell College (near Kansas City). Books, furniture, and all were moved there, where they resided in a room that was a replica of Spurgeon's personal study until 2006.

Emmett O'Donnell of spurgeongems.org announces all 3,563 C. H. Spurgeon sermons are now on his website.
