Each of the forms of development has a distinctive role to play as you enlarge on your sermon points—explanation, illustration, argumentation, and application. The better you understand what each kind of material contributes, the better you will be able to prepare the balanced support that gives real impact to your sermon ideas.

If Jesus Christ has not changed your life, you have never met Him.

Worry’s most striking characteristic is its absolute impotence. No tornado has been stopped, no drought averted, no accident prevented.

If people irritate us, a good technique is to try to see them as God does. He isn't irritated
Worship is moving beyond our self-centered lives to meet the one who created us for something better

The Bible doesn't say God is "love, love, love," or "grace, grace, grace." The Bible says He is "holy, holy, holy." —RC Sproul

Jesus did not simply come to usher in the salvation of isolated individuals, but to establish his Messianic Kingdom. In his person, the Kingdom of God was “already” at hand and yet it was “not yet” consummated. The redemptive historical reality of the already but not yet of the Kingdom of Christ means that he has already fully accomplished the salvation of his people, but his people in this fallen world have not yet completely learned how to conduct their lives “in step with the truth of the gospel” (Gal. 2:14).

A thought on the rainbow so flying today: I am not homophobic if it is defined as being scared of gay people. I'm not bigoted, I just genuinely believe that scripture is authoritative and it says a lot of things I don't like - I just don't get to choose which things to believe. I have good reasons for believing that scripture is authoritative. I stand upon the Christian flag, not the rainbow flag of the gays.

The truth of one's true salvation experience will be in the reality of their belief. One who says they have been saved, born again, freed from sinful living, changed, redeemed, made righteous, and are in agreement with God's standard, will express that in their obedience to the Word of God in their daily living.

The problem with all the crimes we hear about is not about antisocial behavior as much as it is spiritual behavior. They are always wondering why a person would do such a thing as killing people! Simply its a very bad sinful nature that finally show itself as bad behavior.
