Rationalism offers nothing to the mind when it is weak as it so often is. One has to think on godly things first.

Let's address the thinking of the mind.

1A  WHAT ABOUT BEFORE SALVATION; WHAT DOES THE SCRIPTURE SAY:

IB Romans 1:28............       our mind is corrupt

2B 2 Corinthians . 4:4........... our mind is blind

3B Ephesians. 4:17.............. our mind is useless

4B Ephesians . 4:18.............. our mind is ignorant

5B I Corinthians . 2:14.......... our mind is foolish

2A  HOW DO WE THINK AT SALVATION?

IB  I Peter 3:15. The Gospel is concern with the mind.

2B  Matthew 13:19. An element of salvation is occurring within the mind, as a person is coming to a proper comprehension of truth.

Salvation is God's work on the mind. We're saved to worship in truth. Then truth is crucial! Worship is unacceptable if you do not have the truth about God.

3B  Luke 10:27. Salvation is an intelligent response and a reasonable truth in the reveled truth.

4B  Matthew 6:26. Jesus wanted to have his disciples to think.

IF YOU ARE WORRYING YOU ARE NOT THINKING.  ITS NOT THAT YOU ARE THINKING TOO MUCH. BUT WORRY IS DUE TO TOO LITTLE THINKING.

3A  HOW DO WE THINK AFTER SALVATION?

IB  Our minds have

been transformed. The Spirit of God has invades your though processes. 

2C  Romans 8:5-6. Saved people have a saved mind-set. They have a whole new way of thinking.

3C  2 Corinthians1:30 , 2 Corinthians 2:11-12, 1 Corinthians 2:15-16; I Corinthians 10:15;

 2B  Our minds need regular cleansing.

1C  Colossians . 3:10, Romans -12:1-2, Ephesians . 4:23, I Thess. 5:21.

SO THE NEW TESTAMENT CALLS US TO THE MENTAL DISCIPLINE OF RIGHT THINKING. COL. 3:2 AND I PETER 1:13. 

SO DOES THE O.T. Proverbs 2:1-6 and Psalms  119:34.

God calls us to THINK. Philippians 4:8 directs us How to THINK>

SOUND RULES FOR MENTAL HEALTH HOW TO DEVELOP SPIRITUAL STEADFASTNESS? PHILIPPIANS 4:1-8

QUALITIES WHICH SHOULD CHARACTERIZE THE CHRISTIAN.

WE ARE TO THINK ON THE HIGHEST THINGS. RIGHT.

PHILIPPIANS 4:8 CALLS FOR SPIRITUAL THOUGHT-ONDITIONING. Its a call to bombard your mind with constructive thoughts.

 IB  Its easy to mistake error for truth.

2B  Many people are sloppy in their thought lives.

3B  Guard your mind.  1500 advertisements a day

 Specialist who know how to control our thinking.

4B  They cause us to reassess, reappraise our Biblical thinking.

ASK YOURSELVES THESE QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR THINKING.................................................................

IS IT TRUE?

DOES YOUR THOUGHTS HAVE DEEP-DOWN VALUE?

IS IT PURE? CHASTITY IS OUT OF STYLE TODAY.

IS IT LOVELY? YOUR SPIRIT IS IT SWEET OR CRITICAL?

IS IT ADMIRABLE, \NOT DOWN GRADING.

DO YOU HAVE PROPER MEDITATION? DO YOU PLAN RIGHTEOUS WORDS AND DEEDS. IS THERE CAREFUL REFLECTION? The Christian life is one where mental energies are fully at work.

WE HAVE TO PLAN TO THINK RIGHT.

YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR MIND AND THE WAY YOU PROTECT THE MIND IS THE WAY YOU THINK.

There is not quick fix to this process. There is no easy lesson on Spiritual steadfastness. Spiritual steadfastness is produce by a serious cultivating of the principles of Philippians 4:1-9. When those principles began to flow from your thinking, that is what produce the peace, joy, humility, faith, gratitude’s that made your life steadfast and stable.
