Know The Bible: Study Method Early Years: Charles e Whisnant
Before Seminary, while still in High School I had a desire to know the Bible. On of my projects was to study the Book of Galatians. Here is the original notes from that study. Back in 1963 I worked on this project.
Hand Printed then and still love doing that today. Notes from the Galatians study
Yes this is my first Scofield Bible back in the day, around 1960 I believe and used it in those days at Roanoke Baptist Temple and then in Seminary up to 1969.
I believe ever page is used, and the original notes ours still in the Bible
I never ask a student in my youth class to do what I would not do.

When You Say "I Just Don Not Understand The Scripture?"
KEEP ON LISTENING EVEN WHEN YOU THINK YOU
WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO
·
I do not know what you mean by what you are teaching? Pastor Charles, they will say.
I know when I was in Seminary in Dr. George Norris class, I was
listening to the lectures on the subject of Theology, I realized after hearing
him speak not only did I feel I knew nothing of what he was speaking, but I
felt I would never be able to understand a think we was saying.
I can tell you if you keep on listening, and keep on listening, you will begin to find that more than yo had even realized is sinking and seeping in, and you will wake up one of these day and say,. “I got it, I see what it is about, I am beginning to understand.”
·
If you
are not there yet, KEEP ON LISTENING.
·
Do not
impatient with yourself when you are studying a difficult passage in Scripture,
keep on, hold on, reading or listening and suddenly you will find yourself not
only do you know much more than you thought you knew, but you will be able to
follow and to understand.
REMEMBER
THIS, DON’T LET THE DEVIL SAY TO YOU, “You are not a theologian.” Say, “I am in this Christian family, and I
intend to listen and to read until I do understand it. If you do that you will not only defeat th4e
enemy, but you will soon find that you have an understand.
And that is
exactly what happen in Theology 101, 201, 301,and 401 and 501.

LET IT BE KNOWN NEWSLETTER 1969
LET IT BE KNOWN - STUDENTS OF BIBLE BAPTIST SEMINARY NEWSLETTER

Dr. George Norris had the vision to start this class with some of preacher
boys. Off campus at Gideon Baptist Church.
Those were some of the best practical classes on church and pastoral ministry.
Believe me, having taken my first church to pastor. These classes really helped me.
Secondly
Secondly
Ralph and Barbara Wimm,
Most outstanding servants of Christ
STUDENT CHRISTIAN ACTIVITIES CLUB
.
Bill Smith, Edgar Graham and Daniel Stockton who were on this project with me, they were and are as I understand great servants to the Lord.
.
Those years 1966-1969 in Seminary were interesting to say the least. As I remember the desire of my heart was for the on campus students. I had desire to help them move forward in their Christian service. I was only nineteen in August 1966, but I had been a Youth Pastors for two years prior in coming to Seminary. As I remember the only on campus activity was the Missionary group, and as I remember there was no activity for the preachers, students that was not missionaries. So I desired to start a ministry to minister to them. As I remember we had a great time trying, but as I also remember, not well received by the administration. Of course this was 40 years ago. Those were the years.
Arlington Baptist College today, has come alone way from those days. The current leadership are doing a wonderful work.A group of student spend many hours on this project, Student Christians Activity Club. As I again remember after 40 years. I still believe that this would have been a wonderful ministry on campus, as was the Campus Newsletter, and the Student on Campus Revival.
And many of those who were on this project, have proven themselves as wonderful servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, many of them even after 40 years are still serving the Lord today.
